Zoe is a Senior Resolution Office at the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) and has worked for the organisation for two years in the Dispute Resolution space. Her area of work is in conciliating and investigating unresolved complaints to bring them to a resolution. Previously, Zoe volunteered at the Fitzroy Legal Service and the Monash Oakleigh Legal Service and worked in a boutique legal firm. 

 

Zoe enjoys working for the TIO as she is passionate about alternative dispute resolution. Often there can be a power imbalance between two parties to a dispute or a party with significantly more resources. Zoe likes her work at the TIO because it brings both parties together to discuss and try to resolve complaints without the use of the court system. 

 

At the TIO, Zoe is a Safeguarding Officer who is trained in domestic violence complaints, helping the most vulnerable of consumers. She is also a core team member of the Proud @ TIO employee resource group promoting LGBTQI+ rights and a member of the TIO’s Social Committee. 

 

Zoe runs credit reporting and debt training as well as training in the Customer Service Guarantee Standard for new employees at the TIO. She also participates in working groups including the flexible working group and the goal setting working group, helping to provide insight into the employees and what new policies could look like and how they would interact with the organisations’ strategic goals.
